The Dixie Dude Ranch offers exciting Texas dude ranch vacations for family reunions and romantic or weekend getaways. Enjoy horseback riding, hiking, outdoor cookouts and the breathtaking scenery of Bandera County. Our Texas Dude Ranch is located in the cowboy capital of the world, Bandera, TX. The beautiful Hill Country around Bandera and San Antonio is awe-inspiring. The unforgettable sunsets must be seen to be believed. And yes, the stars at night are big and bright. Our spread is over seven hundred acres, which is plenty of room to kick back, relax, and forget about big city living for a while. Dixie is the Texas dude ranch that you will never forget.
Our Texas Dude Ranch is not a resort. We are an actual working stock ranch. Opening in 1901, we are in our fifth generation of providing the pure cowboy experience for people who appreciate the older, simpler way of life. We offer an unstructured vacation that includes plenty of free time to wander our hiking trails, explore our range war cemetery and take horseback riding trips. Our rooms are rustic, yet modern, with all of the amenities you could expect from a hotel, including heating and air, private baths and full maid service. Most of our delicious food is cooked outdoors in the true range tradition. We serve a trail breakfast that will make you misty-eyed. Our friendly ranchers always aim to please and if you have any special requests or questions just give them a holler.
If you want
a bonafide cowboy adventure we offer an overnight trail ride package that
is available for groups of five
or more. After a day of acquainting yourself with all of
the fun activities at base camp, we saddle up and ride out for the afternoon.
You will be accompanied by a helpful crew of authentic and experienced ranch-hands
that will be your
guides and entertainers, as well as, a real chuckwagon with all of the cowboy
delicacies. After the ride we set you up in a tepee for the night. After
supper enjoy songs sung by
cowboy balladeers. Being away from the big city lights really brings out the
brilliant night sky and we are pretty certain there is no better place to
see it. In the morning
y'all will taste a range breakfast that you will not forget and then ride on
back to base
camp.
